Here I am after a crazy few months for the requisite career check-in!
I got a full-time job as the Office Administrator at Olympus Theatricals LLC, a producing body based in NYC. I'm having a wonderful time and am very happy there. I just finished up with two sets of Fall Intensives, facilitating 8 weeks of playwright round-tables for the WorkShop Theater. If any playwrights happen to be reading this before December 20th, send me an email - I am always happy to recommend playwrights to participate in the intensive! I'm working as a personal assistant to a delightful playwright and having a ton of fun learning about how best to support someone making their living off writing. Move Forward Consulting has been taking off, with four new clients in the past month (submission season is truly upon us). This is one of the things do that I find most fulfilling, as it's essentially dramaturging a person and their career. If that appeals to you, make sure to head over to the consulting tab on my website! As 2019 draws to a close, I am so grateful for everything that has happened this year. If you've been a part of it, thank you for being a part of my story and letting me be a part of yours. With love, Dani

I had to put this project on hold late last year when I faced the scourge of the earth, bedbugs. Recently, I've picked it back up again, and I'm so excited to post more plays on it! The project will run until I've covered 365 plays, a full year of plays by playwrights who aren't white dudes.
I dramaturged Leegrid Stevens' play A Peregrine Falls. You can see it for free this Saturday at 8.
I have two pieces that I've dramaturged going up in Project Y's Women in Theater festival this June. The Three Musketeers: 1941 is a new adaptation of Dumas' novel situated in Occupied Paris in 1941. It features some truly amazing Resistance fighters, all women, fighting the pernicious Inspector Richelieu as he tries to funnel Jews to Germany. Buy tickets here. An Incomplete History of Motherhood is a devised piece trying to answer the question: why is it so hard to have a real conversation with your mother? Buy tickets for that here. More is coming! But these are the things you can see soon. April has been a busy month! A lot has been going on for me. I'm now:
In May, I'll be traveling a lot, so keep an eye on this blog for pictures and new projects! |
